I went to buy a suit on Sunday, November 6th at Men's wearhouse in Hyannis, MA for an upcoming job interview I had on November 17th. The salesman I dealt with was James (Jim) Durso - The interaction was fine other than the fact that he wasn't very personable. I tried on a few suits and decided on one. I head to a table of accessories and decide on getting a bag for the suit which gave me a discount on a cedar hanger and socks ($10 each). The suit rings in at $180.00 instead of the original price of $399.00. I don't know if these salesmen get commission but Jim didn't seem to like the "new" price of the suit. He gives me a receipt saying the suit would be ready on Tuesday, November 15th, any time after 6:00pm. I got outside and noticed he charged me full price for the accessories I was supposed to get for $10 each- So I went back in and spoke to him and they adjusted it. Tuesday night comes around and I go to pick it up at 8:00pm, Jim is right outside the door smoking - we both go in and he goes to check on the suit. He then comes back and tells me that the tailor needed a certain color thread and that when he went to JoAnns Fabrics to pick it up, they were already closed. My suit was a dark grey, I don't understand how a men's clothing store didn't have such a normal colored thread (we're not talking about a green suit here) - why would they wait until the last day to go get this thread? Also, why hadn't anybody called me to let me know? I just wasted my time and gas driving there to find out my suit wasn't ready when they told me it would be?? Well, I thought nothing of it and we settled that he'd bring it to my work the next day since I worked from 8am to 9pm and would not be able to pick it up. Jim also said he'd bring chalk so I could try the suit on and if there was anything wrong, we could make adjustments. It dawned on me the next day that, JoAnns was open until 9pm the night before... So why would he lie to me that they were closed earlier in the day when even when I went to pick it up (at 8pm) they were still open?? At this point I was extremely mad and decided to call the store to speak to a manager. I explained the situation to him and he reimbursed me for the equivalent of the alterations but couldn't "explain to me" why his associate lied... Great. Jim arrives at my work and leaves without me even looking at it. He tells me "If there's anything wrong just call the store", turns around and shakes his head at me as in I'm being irrational or something. I look at the suit and one of the buttons is barely hanging by a thread and there are numerous threads coming out at the seams. At this point I can't even believe these guys... Didn't deliver by promised deadline, didn't call me, lied about the reason why, and dropped it off without checking it for imperfections!! Well, I call the manager back, whose name is Scott (employee ID SRW32), and again, explain the situation. At this time Scott is extremely rude and not helpful. He keeps telling me there's nothing he can do unless I bring the suit back, that no one there can come pick it up, that things happen and the world isn't perfect, that when you "buy a car and get a flat tire, the dealership doesn't go fix your tire", and if I'm regretting my decision and am unhappy to return the suit all together. First of all, you don't buy a car with a flat tire, I basically bought a car with a flat tire. The suit wasn't perfect, like when you buy a car, it comes perfect. I've never dealt with a place that simply didn't care about their customer.
Scott approached me right when I came in. He asked me what I needed, and why I needed it. From there, he made quick work providing me a selection of clothing that made sense for me. I left with a wide variety of pieces and was surprised that I was still within my own budget. Very pleased with my experience. Scott is the man and I am definitely going back to this store as soon as I need upgrades to my wardrobe!
So bad. We got no ties in my tux. I am the groom amd I did not get a toe for my wedding. My father in law did not get pants with his tux. I paid $400 for a rental. My vest also had a button missing. We are on the phone with them now and on the way to my wedding. I am so disappointed with mens wharehouse.
Everyone in the store is friendly, personable, and helpful. Every time I have been to this Men's Wearhouse I've been treated extremely well. The workers are efficient and clearly know what they are doing. They also aren't afraid to crack a joke or two while helping you out!
They have something very special going on in this store. Great staff, excellent service and nice quality clothing at a reasonable price. I am a repeat customer and will continue to rely on their expertise to help me look my best. I like the way I look,
