I went to their website this morning and was able to find a "reasonably priced" arrangement (not as competitive as the other services out there, but I can appreciate the need to charge a little more when you're a stand-alone business).
I would love to continue offering business to this florist, as it would be nice to use a local florist for future occasions where flowers are appropriate or when we want to send flowers "just because". But, given the strange interaction that I had, which wasn't completely inappropriate, but certainly took me aback, I may have to try another local florist in the future.
Their website allows you to select the date, which was great because we wanted same-day delivery. The site also asked for special instructions. So I asked that they deliver after 4 PM and that they can leave the flowers at the front door step. I knew my husband's last client appointment wouldn't wrap up until after Bee & Blossom closed for the evening, so I was trying to accommodate all parties involved by having the 4 PM request in the special instructions.
Hopefully, Bee & Blossom reads its reviews and will rectify the situation so that other customers have more pleasant interactions.
At 3:46 PM I received a call from Hyannis, MA. It was a woman from Bee & Blossom. She said that I had given my phone number in the area where they requested the recipient's number. I said, "Yes, I put my number there because this is a surprise for my husband so I wanted you to contact me if you had any questions." She then responded by saying that her driver is at the home and trying to get a hold of the recipient because they need someone to sign for the flowers.
Our family recently purchased our dream beach house on Cape Cod. My husband, a wholesaler for his own company that carries New England gourmet food, recently traveled to our second home to spend a few days in the area to visit new and existing customers.
I placed an order for Mother's Day flowers two weeks ago. My order was supposed to be delivered yesterday but my Mom never received the flowers and never heard anything from Bee & Blossom. I've been trying to call them multiple times today but their line is either busy or rings until you get a voicemail - and the voicemail box is full so you can't leave a message. There's no other way to contact them to get this issue resolved. They're obviously using the phone since I'm getting a busy signal but apparently they're not answering the line or checking messages. I realize this is a very busy day for them (the day before Mother's Day) but it's not acceptable to fail to deliver customer's orders and then be impossible to contact!
I responded and said that the SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS noted to deliver AFTER 4 pm and to leave the flowers at the door (which, to me, means that you do not need someone to sign for them). She then seemed relieved that they could leave them and 'hoped that this was the door that the recipient uses to get in and out of the house' to which I responded affirmatively.
My reasoning for the 2 stars was because the online purchasing process was easy enough, but the prices were high (I am from CT and perhaps this is the cost of doing business in Cape Cod), the owner and/or employees failed to read the special instructions, lacked the professional interaction I would expect from a small business who typically should show they appreciate anyone who supports their establishment and, at the end of what I thought would have been a fun and thoughtful way of showing my husband that we care, the moment was quickly gone and replaced by a negative customer service experience.
To show we are proud of his achievements and that we miss him, my almost 7-year-old son and I thought it would be nice to send daddy a bouquet of flowers. Initially, I was going to use one of the national 1800 companies; prices are cheaper, they run discounts and let you do everything online. But, so as to continue our desire to support locally owned business to sustain small business owners, I decided to give Bee & Blossom a try.
My sister thought it was the most beautiful bouquet she has ever received and they went beyond the call of service to get it there late Saturday or Christmas morning. They were great Santa Helpers for a brother far away and sister in hospital thanks so much
I highly recommend that you avoid this florist because they did not honor my order through Teleflora. I received a call on the day of delivery to say that my order had been accepted and I received confirmation in error because it did not meet the minimum for orders to West Harwich. My options were to cancel the order at the last minute or pay an extra $20 for additional flowers and $10 more for delivery. They would not stand behind the order in spite of the fact that I had confirmation and it was the designated delivery day. Very poor business practice!!!
Bee & Blossom is like a throwback to the old neighborhood florist. The owner, Lou Anne, was so sympathetic to my best friend losing her mother just before Christmas. B & B was rushed and busy with floral deliveries - 48 hours before xmas - but upon hearing the situation, took the time to really care about how we might handle it. She went the distance to find a candle for the centerpiece and made me feel good about the what-to-say awkward words I asked her to type on the notecard. Thank you Lou Anne for assisting a feeling-helpless friend do something with thousands of miles between us.
